DePaul University has an approved Exchange Visitor Program that allows the university to sponsor international scholars in the professor, research scholar or short-term scholar subcategories of J-1 status.
If a DePaul University Department wishes to invite non-tenure track visiting faculty from abroad, the department should contact the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) well in advance of the planned visit. An overview of the DePaul University process for inviting non-tenure track visiting faculty can be found here.
Planning ahead ensures proper visa application, legal entry into the U.S., and lawful payment of honorarium, stipend, or salary. Departments wishing to hire non-immigrant international faculty for tenure track positions at DePaul University should contact the Office of the General Counsel.
If you are currently a visiting professor, research scholar, short-term scholar or have received a DS-2019, please click here for additional information on the visa application process and regulations that J-1 visa holders have to abide by.
